Wild weather today

Sing the earth as you walk,

Shout into wind lifting your hair.

Laugh at rain falling from sodden skies,

Splash through puddles that drown your path.

But that place was long ago;

Before the dry, before the world got hot.

Sing the dirge for humankind

Shout at those who cannot see.

Laugh with those who call for change

Splash past old men who think they lead.

For that place is near at hand;

In this dry, as the world gets hot.

Sing the song of life to come

Shout to those who renew the earth

Laugh with us who cling to love

Splash in rains that offer life

For this place is us and now;

Despite the dry, and the world getting hot.
